The KTM 690 Enduro R is a little different from my 950 in that it has 2 separate filters and 2 separate screens that need to be checked, cleaned and replaced. I’ve done a bit of research and here’s the best way to change the oil on the bike. I’m going to start with the bike on a side stand with the bike as close to level as possible.
Posted June 29, 2015. We rode 690's at a factory ride at a local dealer. Ktm brought in a Semi of 690's, 1190's and a 1290 I think. I too thought the low end was gutless and the front end wondered. Everyone told me the bikes if set up correctly had great low end punch and were solid on the front end.
Two questions but, related, with regards to my KTM690 Enduro R (2015) 1 - The fuel cap is a nightmare to get on/off, always worried I'm going to snap the key. Can I use the type of cap in the picture as a direct replacement and, what size do I need to order? I've tried Amazon but can't find one that's says it's for a 690.

Yes the 500 is awesome, but a different bike designed for a different purpose. The 500 should have an oil change every 500km, the 690 every 5000km. yeah, the frequent maintenance is not what I want. Also 49mpg and fuel capacity 9.20 litres (2.43 US gallons) which equals approx 120mi/tank only.

I owned a 2017 690 Enduro R and spent a full day on a 2019 Honda CRF450L. I also live in FL. I sold my 690 after two years of ownership for 80% of what I paid for it and had zero repairs. Just oil, oil filters, a couple of fuel filters, air filter clean/reoil, chain lube, etc Essentially the stuff you do to all bikes.
